ok, i wouldnt consider myself computer illiterate, but lets just sa
theres a whole lot i dont know. i have a laptop running Windows XP, an
have had some serious problems lately. ive run antivirus software
scandisk, adaware, etc, and nothing is helping. the problem is, i
shuts down all the time. just turns off. out of nowhere, it just turn
itself off. when i reboot it doesnt scan for errors, it just boot
normally. i havent been able to figure out a pattern as to what cause
it, but the latest issue seems to be folding@home. its a clien
software program the chemistry department at stanford u. developed

when i run that program my computer shuts down. the only cause i ca
think of is a memory problem? my firewall asked for permission for WMI
which it has never done before. i believe that has something to do wit
memory? any ideas or advice are greatly appreciated! sorry for the lon
