Computer is too slow and it's getting slower&slower???

Hi there I've wondering if one of you could tell me
what's happening with my LAPTOP???
When i bought the laptop it was really fast, now after
2 years it needs ages to start up. When I am on the
internet and want to change from one prg to another one
it seems to take forever. I already upgraded the memory,
do a disc fracmentation twice a month and delet all
internet cookies and nevertheless the laptop ist damn
slow. Please provide help how to make the laptop faster.

1 - after two years your registry is most likely bloated with old programs
you had at one time but have uninstalled. The bigger the registry the slower
it boots. A format and reinstall of xp is best way to "clean" the registry.
2 - what programs do you have loading at startup? These will slow it down as
well.
3- do you do spyware checks and virus checks. (what virus program do you
use)
4 - are all your drivers updated (especially video)?
