Computer Freezes When trying to download windows XP

I just built a new computer and i got it running but when
i tried downloading the OS to it i cant because the
computer keeps freezing in the middle of it. Any
suggestions as to what this might be?? I am using
Windows Xp home edition on CD to download it.
