I have a Compaq laptop with Windows XP Home edition on it. My problem is that
whenever I right-click on anything, my computer freezes. If I right-click on
any icon on the desktop, it freezes and I have to restart in order to do
anything. If I right-click on any file or folder in a hard drive, My
documents etc, it freezes and I have to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and then
close it from there. The only place that I can right-click without the
computer freezing is on the system tray.

Can anyone help me here? I can't do many things quickly and efficiently
because my computer keeps on freezing.

Ruby,

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

If this happened after installing SP2, see:

Right click causes and error and crashes Explorer.exe after installing
Windows XP SP2?:

do you have DIVX install on the right click menus? this is a common
problem. uninstall Divx to fix,
