Every time I put a cd in my dvd/r/cdr player my system freezes and i have to reboot. How can I stop this. I have disabled autoplay in group policies but when i insert a cd the mouse icon shows the cd being read. HELP. Thanks in advance.

This happens to me as well - I have a Toshiba laptop that has the same
problem and I don't know what it is either. I have been told it can be one of
2 things - I had Bclip installed from factory (burning software) then I
installed Nero and was told I should remove Bclip as having multiple burning
programs can cause conflicts. The second reason I was told was that Virtual
memory file was corrupt or not set correctly (Access by right-click My
Computer -> properties-> Advanced tab -> Performance - settings -> Advanced
tab -> Virtual Memory - change) So I changed this to System managed file -
didn't work - and then rang the manufacturer who said set the value to 1500
MB.
This has not solved it and I am now about to reimage the machine.

Could anyone please help?

Thanks - Adam

Hello

I've the same problem. At the moment I've only a workaround. It seems,
that in case holding the shift-key down doesn't freeze the computer.
But this can't be the solution ....

What could be the cause of the problem?
I've installed XP SP2 and nero6, since then I've the problem.

Anybody an idea?

Regards
Christian
