Hi all

I recently have problems with my computer (Dell, Pentium
4). My comp is only 7-8 mths old, Pentium 4, and
previously it was working fine.

Lately:

- my computer often got stuck suddenly (I use Kazza Lite
to download files), now it virtually happens everytime if
I use internet explorer as well as Kazza Lite (which has
no ads, supposedly) at the same time. The internent
suddenly doesnt work, and when I try to shut it down, it
won't work, so I have to shut it down the hard way
(pushing the start button for 8 seconds, to cut off the
power supply).

- when I look at my task manager, I found that:
+ my CPU usage is low, only 0-6%,
+ but there seems to be so many processes going on at
the same time (there are more than 30 processes running,
ranging from svchost, iexplorer, system.exe, etc). Is
this normal???

Could anyone please tell me what is happening? Any help
will be appreciated.

Thank you.

When you install any of these P2P servers, you open your
computer to all the other computers on the Internet and they
may upload and download what ever they want using your
computer resources.
You have to decide whether "free" music is worth the
trouble. You'd also better hope that it isn't child porn
that they are using your computer to distribute.

Clean your system of spyware/parasites
Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items
listed in red.)

My experience had taught me that Kazaa is not a good place to be. I know it
puts spyware, viruses, and who know what else on machines. While I am no
legal expert, I suspect downloading files from there might be on the
'somewhat shady' side of things. My advice - take it off your machine and
get whatever you are getting there elsewhere. Practice 'safe computing' -
and always wear a firewall<G>

Kazaa doesn't put viruses on your machine by default. You have to
download them via Kazaa ie other folks files. My kids use it. It gives
me the opportunity to learn how to clean out the latest bugs that the
anti-virus folks havn't properly dealt with yet.
