Hi, My friend's computer is no longer turn off automatically as used to be
before installing windows XP 2 days ago, the computer was running windows 98
and since install windows XP he has to keep pressing on the power button
when the " it is save to shut off your computer " and suggestion how to put
it back as used to be ... thanks in advance

This is obviously a problem with the ACPI (Advanced Configuration an
Power Interface). Maybe the mainboard or only the BIOS is too old to b
recognized correctly during the setup.
