Computer doesn't recognize USB device

I bought a 512mb MP3 player for my father for Christmas...I'm trying to
pre-load some music, but nothing shows up in the "My Computer" file

The most likely cause is that it is trying to use the same drive letter that
is already in use. This is very common and is a quite a stupid bug on
Microsoft behalf. To fix it, right click on MyComputer and go to Manage. Go
to disk management, find the device, right click it and change the drive
letter.
