computer does not read cdrom/dvdrom drive

i recently reinstalled windows xp onto my computer
now when i go to "my computer", my cd-rom drive and my dvd-rom drive don't even show up
when i put in cds or dvds, they don't play
help!

Drop in on Kelly's site, below, click on "D" and scroll to...
"DVD - Missing in the Device Manager"
