computer dies from time to time after installing patch

My computer would die from time to time after
installing "Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows XP
(KB826939)". Anybody has any suggestion? Thanks a lot.

Are you getting a blue screen with an error message?If
so,what is the exact error?
When it dies,describe what happens in detail,if you
could.Then the Tech gurus can offer you better
advice/solutions.

If you are network connected and have not installed
the many patches that follow after that rollup, then
your machine may be brought down by either of a
few denial of service attacks.

You might just have to remove the update and hope

microsoft comes up with a better one !! There are a
couple that are incompatible with my system as well.
