Computer can't find Winword.exe. Need to re-install. Where find?

When I try to open Microsft Word documents, I receive this message, "Windows
cannot find Winword.exe." I looked on Microsoft's site for a download, but I
couldn't find one. Please help me and my computer find Winword.exe. I'm using
Win98 SE. Thank you.

Do you have Microsoft Word installed? If so, repair the installation. If
not, you will have to buy it. It is not available for download.
