Computer beeps

When Oulook Express is opened Occasionally I get 1 short beep,any one know
what it means.Tried to search the internet but dont know to much about BIOS.
I know I have Pheonix 3.09

If you get beeps as your computer is booting, then you are getting an
indication of self test failure. Then you need to know your beep codes.

However a beep when Outlook Express is opened has nothing to do with your
BIOS. If you are not having problems with Outlook Express you could just
ignore the beep or post to a Outlook Express 6 newsgroup.

If you have a high speed connection and have configured Outlook Express to
periodically check for mail, does the occasional beep correspond to new
mail?
