I'm having a problem logging onto the domain after rebuilding a PC. I delted
the computer account in AD. I went to rebuild the PC. Logged on and joined
the domain using the same name the pc previously had. The name is a
requirment for this pc and must remain the same. After I joined the domain
and attempted to log on I got an error stating there was something wrong with
my computer account. I looked in AD and did not see the computer account. I
tried manual creating the computer account to no avail. I eventual had to
log on locally and unjoing and rejoin the domain using the netwok ID wizard
suppliying the Domian Admin creditals and the computer name using the domain
as the computer domain? Any reason on why this happened and how can I
resolve this issue if it occurrs agin? Also supplying the Admin credentails
will this cause a security issue or anytihing with the computer I was trying
to join to the domain.

Well the only thing that you did wrong was to delete the account in AD. If
you do that and then try to log on obviously there would be a problem because
the user does not exist.

I dint really get the second question. For what did you use the admin
credentials?

Hi George,

My first thought is: This issue may occur because the user account you used
to join the computer to domain has reached the top limit. For the actual
reason, I think I need the exact error message to analyze. If you happend
to similar issue again, please take a screen shot and post in our
newsgroup, I'll be glad to be of assistance.

Have a good day.
