Different file types compress to different degrees. Anything text based
will compress down 70-80%, but .jpg's are *already* compressed, and
compressing them into a WinZip file, for example, increases compression
only 1-2% Most all available compression utilities compress files of
any given type about as much as they can be compressed - WinZip (as just
one example) is about as good as it gets.
If you believe you need to compress files to save disk space than you
most certainly, need a larger hard drive.
