How do i delete compressed old files. I do disk cleanup,
i have compressed old files checked, but they will not
delete. As time goes on, the compressed old files
folder just gets larger. I do note need them and want
them gone. Can anyone tell me how?
Thank you.

Go to the site above(run by an MS MVP),line 48 right
colume click on it (disc cleanup sticks on compress old
files.)Run it thru, that will remove them and the listing
so it wont be a problem in the future. This method beats
going into the registry and deleteing them manualy.

You don't need them?
Are you sure?
Disk Clean-up is not intended to delete those files, some may be
important.
When the box is checked, Disk Clean-up compresses the files that have
not been used in a while.
It gets larger because more files are added to it.

However if you simply want the entry gone:

Or
Follow this link:

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
