I recently had to have my hardrive wiped and reloaded in regards to multiple virus's.My guy compressed and transfered my only copies of important photos to another computor. Now he says due to it being an early not updated version of XP the compressed files cannot be opened and that MIcrosoft has no solutions,(but it has since been resolved in updated versions)
If anyone has experience or a solution to this problem it would be very much appreciated.Thank you,Steve

Cannot Restore Backups That You Create in Windows 95, Windows 98,
or Windows Me with the Windows XP Ntbackup Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305381

You may have success restoring Win 9X backups (.qic files)
with Stomp BackupMYPC (formerly Veritas Backup Exec),

There's a 30 day free trial, so try it out!
