Component Help

Though Component Help is a very useful tool, I would like to see the
components dependents listed as well. So, for example if you were to add
component, how much baggage comes with it.

For SP2, component Help improvements include:
* 100% coverage - no more "No Help is available for this component"
* Services information
* File Resources
* Registry Resources
* Component Dependencies
* Exposed Interfaces
* Additionally, 1200+ of the component Help topics will have additional
content and be easily located with a special icon in the Help

Hi Sean,

This feature would be nice I agree with you.

But for this option to work, TD would have to do two full virtual builds one on your image without that component and one with that
component present, and also it would have to resolve all dependencies that are related to this component only and not to all other
unresolved dependencies.

Pretty heavy stuff, and time consuming. I do not think that MS will even consider this nice option for long time ahead. (At least
until they solve problem with long times for check dependencies and build).

I agree, resolving dependencies can be time consuming, but I think knowing
what the dependencies are before adding a component will save the developer
time in the long run.

I know this is a little overboard, but since I am still on the "adding the
nice features" soap box; how about having TD output a Visio diagram of the
Component Dependencies when you check dependencies.

Hi ,

Well for the better part of it there can an option to choose either
to go for the component dependecies or not to go.This would help in
minimising the size for the golden build.
