Completely Baffling Problem

Hi. Every other program apart from aol says im not
connected to the internet when i am, e.g. virus updaters,
msn messenger, kazaa etc. I have tried reinstalling aol,
as i thought that was the problem, and it still didnt
work. I contacted aol, and they tried everything they
could but still couldnt help me. They told me that the
problem probably rested within windows and not aol if aol
is working fine. I cant update my internet explorer as
obviously it doesnt update through aol but seperatley.
Please help! I have tried, virus checkers, registry
checkers, used software to check my modem for problems,
reinstalled aol. Any suggestions?

First, uninstall Kazaa.
Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Someone with KAZAA on his system is looking for trouble
Be more detailed, AOL has a habit to reset your browser settings
Run spybot SD and Ad-Aware.
It sound's to me that you have a HIJACK problem.
 
Yes i have tried spybot and that didnt work. I ended up
formatting my hard drive out of frustration, and
installed aol first thing to see if it worked, and it
still didn't. The AOL browser works fine, its everything
else apart from that.Oh yeah, i can't access secure sies
either.I am running Windows XP and AOL version 8

SpyBot needs to be updated before each use and there are several other
things to use at that Web site.
