compatibility mode

when i load internet explorer it tells me that i am
running in compatibility mode ?
i have not changed anything.
i have no taskbar or any other options i can acess the
home page that it loads and that is it\

now i can change my home page by going to my internet
explorer properties then from there i can somewhat use
how do i turn off this compatibility mode ?
i dont even know where to begin
 
If you did not installed any new software recently then you could have been
hacked.
Seen too many "Compatibility mode" errors recently. Check for parasites.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

You may have a new variant:

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.
