Compaq running XP shutting down???

My neighbor, really, has a Compaq desktop running XP. For
the past several weeks, the system has only been usable at
10am and 10pm. It runs like normal, then just kind of
shuts down. It's still powered up, but it will not do
anything, then at 10, it starts running normal again for
about 30-45 minutes, then goes dead again until 10. Now
it has started doing this at random intervals. Any
clues????
 
Try to check for Sasser virus.....
