my computer has started putting itself into stand by mode without warning.
it does it when i am using it and when i am not.
it is the main computer and i have a laptop connected via rj45 cable. this
has been the case for several months. the only error showing in the event
viewer is :
Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 20106
Source: RemoteAccess
Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: ROUTERLOG_COULDNT_ADD_INTERFACE
Message: Unable to add the interface %1 with the Router Manager for
the %2 protocol. The following error occurred: %3
Explanation
Possible causes include:
a.. The interface type is not dedicated
b.. The loopback and router is configured in Lanonly mode
c.. There is not enough memory.
User Action
Configure the Routing and Remote Access service in Rasmode. If it is
already configured in Rasmode, free up memory by closing any unnecessary
programs.
the most recent change that i have made to my computer is that i have
a new logitech keyboard and mouse but these have been in use for a couple of
weeks.
i am on winxp home with a 2ghz athlon xp cpu and 1gb of ram. the
computer is extremely stable and i cannot imagine what is causing this.
there is no overheating according to my motherboard software.
it will start up again as if nothing is wrong and can go for a couple
of hours or a couple of minutes before hibernating again. all of the
computers settings have been set for years. nothing has been changed
recently.
could the above error cause the computer to stand by???
any ideas???
