I can hear a weird noise comming out of my comp around the fron of it toward
the harddrive area at cetain times, also during games. it sounds like a click
and then it loads or struggles but its only for a second. It would often
freeze. I installed SP2 from cd and I dont know if it has anything to do
with it.
Any ideas

Only if you forgot to take the CD out of the drive.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately
responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Know what you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

It sounds like a clicking noise and its doing it more often. There is nothing in the cd drives

Should I try uninstalling SP2 becasue this started happening after i
installed it or it might be coincidence.
It seems to be a clicking noise. Any ideas on what it is or if it is that
how do i get rid of it.

John;
That clicking noise could be the hard drive failing.
This would not be related to SP-2 installation.
IMMEDIATELY back up all important data.
Then go to the hard drive manufacturers website and get their hard drive
diagnostics.

John, my new HP computer did that after a few months. The HD was failing!
I'm so glad I backed everything up because HP had to install a new HD. On
checking, they found the CD-R/RW/DVD drive was also failing. Since they
replaced them last Feb we haven't had any strange noises from either drive.
Even "new" HDs can fail.

The noises we heard were a faint clicking, ticking and what sounded like
marbles rolling around.
