Comment positioning different after I finish editing

I created a comment on a cell.

While editing it, I positioned it far from the cell.

But after I completed the editing, when I hover over the cell, the comment
appears right next to the cell again. I can't seem to change this.

Is there a switch for this sort of thing?

Hmm, you're right. It seems that changing the position of the comment
only works when you do a "show comment", not hovering. Seems like an
oversight/bug to me.

Y'know, by replying to the posting, people who may have a solution will see
it as having been replied to and skip it.

If you don't have any thing more constructive to say than an empty
observation why are you answering the question??

I will now likely need to repost in the hope there is a solution. Please be

The way comments work, I think, is that they get positioned relative to
the screen(at the time you inserted them). So if you hide or group
row/columns (after you inserted the comment)their relative position
gets changed and thats what seems to have happened in your case.

So if you want to see the comments in their original place while
editing you need to unhide/ungroup those row/columns and have the sheet
in the same view as it was when you had inserted the comment.

this is what i have experienced, hope it helps

I was pointing out that positioning the comments *does* in fact move
them if you use "show comment". (It was not clear whether you knew this
from your original post). I was also giving my opinion that this
feature seems to be an oversight/bug. It's hard to say for a fact that
something is not possible, but if you see several people saying that
they don't think it is possible, then it probably isn't. Would you
rather get no response at all if there is no solution?

Are you serious??? Well, I'm sorry that I ruined this newsgroup for
you. But if you look at posting history here, I post about 10 answers
for every question I ask. Meanwhile, you've posted 39 questions to this
newsgroup and only answered someone's question once. And you criticize
someone who's trying to help. You tell me, who's more supportive of
this newsgroup?

And before you try to lecture someone on usenet etiquette, maybe you
should learn how to trim quotes in your replies.
