My son`s first assignment in his internet class is to copy the activities
disk that came with his workbook using disk copy in command prompt. The
workbook gives directions for a floppy however it is not a floppy but a cd.
We substituted D: for A: in the directions but we keep getting " invalid
drive specification, specified drive does not exist or is nonremovable" I
know you can`t use disk copy with a hard disk but is the cd drive considered
a hard disk drive? If not, where are we going wrong?

The command diskcopy.exe is reserved for floppy disks.
It won't work on anything else. Use "My Computer" or
"Windows Explorer" to copy files off a CD.

His teacher told him to sub drive D for A. I have a feeling this class might
be a problem. Thank you both. I should have come here first and saved myself
hours of frustration.

It works only with floppy disks.
