Command Line Setting of Display Properties

I have a laptop that I use at work. When I dock the laptop I have to open
the Display Properties>Settings, Select the second Display, enable it, move
it to where I want it to be. Leaving for a meeting I have to repeat the
process and again when I get back to my desk.

Can I do this on the command line? I would rather not use a macro if I can
help it when I switch between docked and undocked mode. The laptop does come
with hot-keys that are supposed to switch display settings for you, but they
only work the first time, after power up and it ends up being easier to go
through the trauma above than rebooting.

Kelly,

Thanks for your quick response. I was hoping for something more along the
lines of:

Start/Run: control desktop.settings "monitor_2_enabled 1600x1200 32-bit
primary=no location=1024,0"

I have tried the obvious : control desktop /? etc and haven't been able to
get more information about how to force a given set of settings.

running "control desktop" pops the control panel dialog box up, does not
switch my display driver settings. I may have missed the details on your
site, please let me know if I did.

Get a copy of the freeware MultiRes. It can do exactly what you want on
multiple monitors.
