I used to open Outlook 2003 using the icon on my desktop. Then withour doing
anything to the shortcut target, I got an error "Cannot start Microsoft
Office Outlook. The command line argument is not valid. Verify the swtich you
are using."
I did search all the Newsgroups and Microsoft support site, I still can't
get rid of this error. Either clicking the the Outlook icon on my desktop or
double-clicking C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe
directly would give me this same error.
Only way I can start Outlook is on Start-->Run-->Outlook which is very
inconvenient. What should I do to get fix this problem? Any sugguestions?

Hi Andreas-
Thanks for your quick response. I actually never try to use any
command-line switches and I don't understand why it just happens that I can't
access Outlook 2003 by just clicking the same old icon I did before. Anyway,
I tried change the target of the Outlook shortcut to " "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle outlook:calendar" as
suggested in the article you mentioned. I, however, still get the same
error. Is there anything I could address? Pls suggest what I should do.
Thanks very much!
