Command and conquer slowdowns

Is this a known issue? I am running a high end system (p4
2.8 800fsb with 1 g memory and ATI 9600 pro graphics
card) and i still get very jittery frame rates despite
trying to minimize programs in the system tray.
 
Hi Dan,

How many sticks of RAM are you using to make
up the 1Gig? Sometimes it's better to leave one
fast 512 MB stick in the system instead of several
sticks. The opposite is true if running some servers.

I guess you're talking about Generals?

If you're running with a lot of AI players it does slow down a lot
especially if you're running Zero Hour. Apparently it's being "worked on".

What settings have you got it set on?

With my Athlon 64 w/1GB of DDR SDRAM and Radeon 9800 Pro @ 1280x1024 with
everything on max there is slow down now and then.

On a BIG map i can't play 4 players 8 player map though, but just four
players have to do smaller maps or less players :(
