combo box / add new item but don't save to lookup tbl?

Good Day,

I have frmorders, that has a cbodesignname that performs a lookup on
tbldesigndata. The issue that I have is that sometimes I will have a custom
order/design information that I want to enter manually and save to the
appropriate form fields. However, I don't want to save the information to the
tbldesigndata?

Is that possible?

Sure, just set the control's "limit to list" to false.
