Is there any way to combine multiple PowerPoint presentations into one file
without losing the formating? For example, when inserting slides from file
it often updates the color scheme, removes or changes the background and
sometimes changes the font. I am using PowerPoint 2003.

When you click "Insert", "Slides from file" and browse to and select your
file then click the desired slide(s), make sure the "Keep source formatting"
checkbox at the bottom left of the dialog box is checked before you click
"Insert" or "Insert All".

At the bottom of the dialog box for the Slide Finder is a check box labled "Keep
source formatting". Have you tried that?

What Bill and Sonia have said, but be aware of the aspect ratios. If you
try to mix a custom size or 35m with an on screen show for example,
you'll end up with some interesting formatting to sort out.
