I have a sony vaio, and for some reason I have a local drive c that holds all
of my documents and system and it is only 2 gb. I is full. I have a local
drive D that has nothing in it and has about 50gb in it. Can I combine these
drives, or make use of this to keep my computer from saying I am out of disk
space. HELP

Move your "My Documents" to D. Right-click on "My Documents", choose
Properties, and choose "Move". It's as easy as that.

Easiest solution would be to redirect your My Documents to the
D:\ Drive. This also move My Music and My Pictures.
Open My Computer, Right Click on My Documents. The details
box should open to the Target (TAB). Click the Move button &
redirect it.

This may only be a short-term solution. Eventually you may to
use a 3rd-party disk management tool to reallocate space between
your partitions.

If the two "drives" are only partitions on the same drive you could use
a partition manager software to combine them.

Or even better, increase the C drive partition (as 2GB is a /little/ small
for XP plus apps) and just keep all data files on D drive......
