I cannot seem to get this game to run. It installs ok. When I go to play the game it comes up with "detected and recovered from a device failure". It says to reboot but will not run. I've heard somewhere that many poeple are having the same problem.

If when you recover from the device failure are you in VGA mode (Low
resolution with few colors)? If so your system recovered from a video
driver failure. It is possible the latest driver for your video card will
fix this problem. Please make sure you are running the latest Video and AGP
driver.

It recovers in low resolution. The computer is almost new. Following is system info
Windows XP home edition vers 200
Pentium(R) 4 cpu 2.6 gi
496 mb ra
Hard drive
8 GB use
111 GB avai
Video
Intel(R) 82865G Graphics controlle

I've updated everything. What I do not understand is why should there be a need for so many updates & patches to make a simple sim program run marginally better
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I trash the program

Thank
R Mille

The Intel onboard graphics is most likely the culprit. MSCFS has some pretty
hefty video requirements to run well and onboard graphics just won't cut it.
Your processor and the rest of your system should be fine, you might look
into a decent AGP video card. One of the Ti-4xxx (not MX) should help a lot
without breaking the bank. If you are using CFS-3, you should up the ram to
at least 512mb. For 1 and 2, you are ok.
