With my old system I used Windows 98 OS and Office 97. I used Outlook Express for e-mail and I regularly would 'compact' my e-mail folders. I now have a new system using XP Pro and Office 2003. For e-mail I decided to use Outlook rather than Outlook Express. In Outlook 2003 I cannot find where I can compact my e-mail folders. I am wondering if this is now done automatically??? Can anyone help me with this

To some extend it is done automatically. You can do it manually by
rightclicking the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced...-> button Compact Now...
