Column Width and Row Height

What size should I make the column width if I want it to be equal to a row
with a row height of 30? How did you figure that out?

hi
you have to do a little geometry since rows are measured in points and
columns are measured in characters.
1. set the row to 30 points.
2. from the dawing toolbar, select and drop a rectangle in the row and size
it's highth to the row.
3. right click the rectangle and select format.
4. on the size tab, the rectangle highth should be about .43". set the width
to the same.
5. adjust the column width to fit the rectangle width.
6. on the 2003 menu bar>format>column>width. it should read about 8.43
characters.

after sizeing the rectangle and column, the width should be about 5.14
characters.
