Using Excel 2000, all my spreadsheets have changed from having letters at
the top of the columns to numbers. How do I change back?

Joe,

Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the General tab. There, uncheck
the "R1C1 reference style" setting.

Thanks Ken!

I had the same problem using Excel 2002. The solution was:
1. Go to Tools --> Options
2. Go to the General tab.
3. Under Setting, uncheck the option R1C1 reference style.
4. Click in OK
That's all
