Colour Choices

I would love some advice on the best colour contrasts to
use for text with coloured backgrounds. What colours are
the clearest and easiest to read. eg White texton blue
background, yellow text on blue background, ???

I tend to go for "clarity" over "that would be nice"
or "can they read it at the back" over "It has to be that color as our corporate identity (logo police) say it has to be
that color"

If the blue leans to the dark side then you're all set

Green on purple, violet on yellow, blue-green on red? Yuck.

If you would only stay out drinking with us all night, these color
schemes would make a lot more sense. Especially , in the morning. (g).
