I have a HP pavilion m200Y. The Product Key # was already
in my computer when I receive it last week. When I
clicked to reguestered, A set of numbers and letters
came up for a split second. I believe it was the Product
Key # and it is different from the MS sticker on my
computer. HP can or will not help me with this. Where do
I look to find the Product Key # inside my computer. And
how important is it to have the right Product Key #.

HP uses a different Product Key when they initially installed
Windows XP. That Product Key cannot be reused. If you should
need to reinstall XP, use the Product Key on the sticker attached
to your computer.

Greetings --

If you have a factory-installed OEM license, and haven't since
reinstalled the OS, the revealed Product Key is probably of the drive
image used at the factory and not _your_ specific Product Key. Just
remember to use the Product Key from the label affixed to your PC,
should you ever have to reinstall the OS.
