cmd.exe when logging off

Error message appearing when users log off:

windows cannot end this task - cmd.exe

This message is appearing on XP Pro workstations and Win2K servers for the
past few days. Sophos and Pest Patrol show no viruses etc. Is this a Windows
Update patch problem? Alternatively how can I determine what has launched or
what is running within the cmd.exe thread?

Try Process explorer from Sysinternals
