closing other programs

When I try to download windows xp sp1 it and while
installing it, it gives me an error saying the file
atapi.sys is open or is being used by another program..
what programs do you think i may need to shut down so i
can continue to download the winxp sp1 without getting
this error? Any suggestions? Thanks! Orion..

Perform a "clean boot" and then install SP1a.

Visit: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp1/default.mspx
and select "Network Installation", download SP1a to a new folder, then install.
