Close button not working

I recently downloaded some p2p programs that did'nt work
but after uninstalling them when I use internet explorer
the close button on the bar does not work i just get an
error sound, the only way I can then close it is to end
the process in task manager.
 
As an added supplement the download gave you some parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
