Close all files in Word

Is there a way if I have say 8 Word files open that I can
close them all together ? Every time I close a file in
Word it jumps into either Outlook or another open program
and I have to click back into Word to close the next
file. Very irritating. This only happens in XP. I use
Word 2002.
 
From tools > customize > commands > file add the CloseAll tool to the File
menu.

In addition to the other methods suggested, if you are closing all the files
because you are done with your Word session, you can just use File>Exit.
