I am trying to clone my hardrive on my laptop as a backup.
I work for a large company licensed to run the software.
When I complete the clone and try to boot the cloned drive
I get an error messaging concerning licensing problems. I
cannot remember the exact message but I believe it saks me
to contact Microsoft. Is there any workaround for this?

My recommendation
Is to get Norton's ghost enterprise version and Get Windows xp sever.

Also. you might be easier to restore your laptop back like it was,
and do a image back to your laptop if you have more or the same amount
of hard drive space that your work computer.

You might one to try changing the laptop to a desktop.
Do it in safemode.

Note for Microsofts Mike B.
This is his Job. He could get fired if he does not
do, what he boss wants. Mike you should know that.
This is from symantec itself. So dont delete my post.

You Need to get the windows xp boot disk for your system
at Microsoft.

Boot the disk choose repair console and fixboot.
Try that.

Note if password does not work just hit enter.

As picky as XP is, this may not work.

Larry In a way,
By me telling those tips

changing the laptop to a desktop computer in safe mode.
(Actual Microsoft needs to blame nortons)

Then ghosting it on the other computer. I just told
everyone here how to clone the hard drive to another computer
with out worrying about activation.

Which is actually agianst the EULA, However this guy situation is
different. It his Job. Have the people that click the Eula don't
even read it.

That why I made the suggestion of making an image backup to the laptop
if thier is room. After he restore the laptop back like it was.

Note to Joe
If you do a image backup use the -FDSP -NTIL command line switch for
restore and backing up.
