Cloning HDD

I have an HP Pavillion 7915 in which the factory installed HDD has the OS
(XP) in a hidden partition. In a previous post I read about the possibility
of cloning the C: drive. QUESTION: would the cloning procedure clone the
hidden partition?

Another question has arisen: what constitutes selecting to clone the hard
drive completely using XP's XCOPY?

NONE !

XCOPY is a file copying utility, not a cloning application and works at the file level and
not at the disk partition level.

You need software such as Symantec Ghost 2003.

Thanks, David! Guess that wraps this thread up.

Try the HDD manufacturer's website and look at the 'HDD Utilities', for
example Maxtor, have a utility called 'MaxBlast', it clones drives, but
iirc only if one of the drives is a maxtor
