The clock looses exactly 1hr each day no less no more. Changed the battery,
no good. Checked the settings for daylight savings etc. everything good.
Any ideas?
 
You or someone told XP it's in the wrong time zone.
Either set the timezone or turn off the auto-time checks.

Well, since it was _exactly_ one hour, every time, then no way was it
the battery.

I seem to remember Norton AV being the culprit in some cases.

Google groups may shed some light if you have Norton.
