I recently ugraded my PC and am running XP. The taskbar
clock suddenly loses about three hours for no apparent
reason. This happens about every 7-10 days (in between
it's fine). Can someone help me rectify this problem?

Hi Grover,

Suggestion:

Go to Start/Run and type in: cmd
At the prompt, type in:

net stop w32time, enter.
Then w32tm /unregister, enter.
Then w32tm /register, enter.
Then net start w32time, enter.

See if its correllated to shutting down. There's a
battery that keeps clock going that may be dying.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @

I'm was having the same problem. It all started about the same time these
bulk emails with viruses in them started. Since I;ve installed anti-virus
software I haven't had any problems with it. hmm.

Makes sense, Greg. Otherwise, is the PC on a network. It may be governed by
the Network clock.
