Clipboard organizing software

I am pondering the value of using a clipboard organizer that automatically
captures and lists various snippets I have cut n pasted etc.-- much like MS
Word does. The idea is that then you can cull through the snippets and
save-- to the organizer-- any that you might feel you will use often. I have
refrained from downloading one because of questions about where it resides
and the resources it might sit on.

Anyone here use one? How useful is it? Is there some way for XP to do this
conveniently without the need for an additional progrm? Where do these
snippets reside? Surely they are not sitting in RAM?

I use Clipmate. It is very useful.
XP does not do it as it only keeps one item in the clipboard.
The snippets don't reside anywhere unless you have a clipboard
organizer.

Thanks Alan

There is also this simple freebie oldie that I have used frequently for many
years, ClipPlus 3.6.

(This is not the newer Clip Plus 4.x, which is a shareware program from
another author.)

Callmark1:
You might also want to take a look at Clipboard Recorder - see
http://www.lw-works.com/clipboard-recorder
A very nice little program and a freebie to boot.
Doesn't use an inordinate amount of computer resources, simple to use, and
quite effective. It's one of the few third-party programs running in the
background that I use on my own machines.

thanks !!

Hi Callmark1,

I actually use 2 different programs to do what you are talking
about. I use FlashPaste for snippets. I am a programmer, and have a
lot of snippets in different languages that I want to have fast
simple access to. Note that FlashPaste is shareware (I don't
remember how much I paid for it).

I also do a lot of editing, so I also need to do a lot of
cut-&-pasting. For that I use the freeware program Ditto.

The main thing that both of these program have in common is that
they will allow an unlimited (ie. based on your hard disk space)
number of snippets. I just did a check, and I have more than 600
snippets in FlashPaste, and more than 100 in Ditto.

Ciao . . . C.Joseph

And on the seventh day God said,
"I will rest . . . Murphy take over."

Thank you.
