Clipboard runs in the background.. the copy function copies to clipboard..
the paste function copies to final app..

If you are referring to converting *.doc file {such a MS Word file} to a
*.txt, then clipboard does not directly support the conversion. You must
first open the *.doc file in a compatible program. If you open the *.doc
file with a viewer {such as the free Word viewer available from Microsoft},
then you can copy and paste via the clipboard to a program that will allow
you to save as a *.txt. If you open *.doc with a compatible word processor,
you can save it as a *.txt file.
