When I do a searh to insert clipart the thumbnails are all displayed with the
WMF icon. I can select Preview/Properties to view them individually, but as
you can imagine this is very time consuming. Any suggestions to auto preview
clipart?

Try using Insert/Picture/Clip Art. The Clip Organizer usually shows the clip
images, not the WMF icon.

Yes, that is what I am trying. This function worked previously. Do you know
of any options or settings that may have been changed in error by the user?

Empty your cache, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files.

Glad to hear it. From your original description, I thought you were using
Insert/Picture/From File and only seeing the WMF icon on the thumbnails...
