Questions: we have users logging into their local machines and are now
getting ready to join a domain. how can i make sure that their programs are
going to function properly or how can I give them access to the programs
installed to the local user profile? can a standard domain user install
software? If not, besides using gpo to rollout software, how can I install
software for these users?

To make them keep their settings copy their local profile to domain profile
after they logon to domain. Domain user can not install software on local
PC. To allow them do that add a domain user to local (not domain)
administrators group on user machine.

If these users are currently local admins, make the domain account, or group a
member of local admins. See tip 5319 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
