I am operating a Dell Windows XP Pro computer, 1 month
old. For the past week, whenever I use the floppy 'a'
drive, there is a single 'clicking' sound coming from
within the 'a' drive slot in the CPU. The drive seems to
be operating correctly, in that files are copied, etc.
Even 'closing' the drive causes this same 'click' sound. I
have used several different floppies, yet the sound still
persists. I have checked that all wires leading in and out
of the CPU are firmly in place.
There is no such 'click' whenever I am an Drives C,D or E.
Any ideas what has caused this to happen, and how I may
eliminate this annoying sound?
Thanks.

Because the A Drive involves mechanics (a small motor) the others don't
have, probably not. Mine clicks; just means the disk has started. As long
as it works, don't worry.
