Clicking on 'My Computer' opens Search Window

This is a very odd issue. When double clicking on the My
Computer icon on the desktop it will only open a search
window instead of opening My Computer. When right
clicking on My Computer, the 'open' option is not
avaiable and the search option is the default. This is
also true for all other icons on the desktop as well as
any application i try to run from the Run Box.
